Lymphatic Massage

What MLD is: MLD is specialized massage technique that directly effects and supports the bodies lymphatic system. You can expect gentle, light, rhythmic, repetitive circular strokes. This massage follows the lymph system’s pathways and moves fluid throughout the body. As a Certified Manual Lymphatic Therapist, I can also redirect the lymph, creating the necessary pathways to help with the maintenance of lymphedema clients. Continuing education is key for helping my clients. My certification is through the KLOSE- Voddler method. I have taken additional CEU’s in the following: Lipedema Awareness for Massage Therapists, Plastic Surgery Recovery and Fibrosis Massage, Massage After Tummy Tuck, all through Kathleen Lisson. Feel free to check out these sites for additional information: Klose Training & Kathleen Lisson CEU for Lymphatic Research.

What MLD is not: Painful, pushing of fluid out of incisions

Post op instructions: Can book 10- 14 days post-surgery without drains, this is the inflammation phase and MLD helps with inflammation and healing faster. Discuss with surgeon if you have any questions. I can come to your home, or in office.

Therapeutic/
Deep Tissue Massage

You can receive deep restorative work without serious pain. This type of massage is geared toward the deeper layers of connective tissue. You can expect this massage to focus only on certain areas of the body rather than its entirety. You may need to have several sessions to treat chronic pain. To help you receive relief, I utilize several techniques, such as trigger point therapy, positional release therapy, basic myofascial therapy, and muscle energy therapy. If you are looking to address problem areas, chronic pain, or patterns of muscular discomfort—this one is for you! I specifically enjoy addressing neck and shoulder pain.

Prenatal Massage

The body undergoes tremendous changes as it prepares and grows baby, both physically and emotionally. It is my sincere joy to come along and support you during this tender time. Prenatal massage is such a passion of mine because I am a new mama! While pregnant myself, I fell in love with pre/postnatal massage while I was working with this clientele. I gained so much body wisdom and experience as I was journeying into motherhood. Prenatal massage is full-body, focused on specific areas that affect mamas, such as lower back, hips, glutes, pelvis, feet, shoulders, neck, and abdomen. You can expect this massage to be tailored to your needs and how your body is feeling. Pressure can vary and so can techniques. Pillows and bolsters play an important role in supporting you during the massage and keeping baby safe. You can receive a prenatal massage throughout the entirety of your pregnancy.

Postpartum Massage

The body continues to undergo tremendous changes to adapt to the needs of baby while navigating a new rhythm of life. Childbirth is physically and emotionally taxing on the body, just as it was growing baby. This is a season to bond with baby, to rest and recover. Again, it is my joy to serve and support your body and address your needs. As a newly postpartum mama, I can attest to the care that is needed! This is a full-body massage that focuses on nurturing rest and prioritizing recovery, working out the new “mama muscles” that become super tight from holding baby or breastfeeding. You can receive a postpartum massage when you feel comfortable, although I recommend 2-4 weeks postpartum after vaginal delivery and 4-6 weeks after cesarean, or when your medical provider gives clearance.
